Hello there!

My name is Mandy Hamilton. I'm an adventurous foodie and athlete residing in San Francisco, California. I moved to this urban utopia after spending 3 years in Whistler, Canada. Before that I called Portland, Oregon home during my college years and was raised in Hawaii. Did you keep up with that? It has been one heck of a journey!

My Hawaiian upbringing, five year stint as a vegan, French nanny, and the voluptuous food scene of Portland has led me to be the food lover I am today. And by love of food, I mean all things food: cooking it, eating it, shopping for it, photographing it AND most of all sharing it with others. It should be celebrated, savored and dreamed about.

I think food is in an integral part of a healthy and happy life. Nothing beats eating real food with good people.

Two other things you should know about me... I currently work in the fitness industry as a manager and a group exercise instructor. When I was getting my degrees in Psychology, Environmental Studies and Marketing I would have never guessed that I'd be working in the fitness industry.

I should have known, I have been an athlete my whole life. I've always spent my days and free time outside surfing, swimming, running, biking etc. I even got to a nationally competitive level. I love what being healthy and active does for your mind body. That's why I try to fuel my body in the best way possible. I'm no healthy nut I just love FEELING AWESOME. And that usually involves eating fresh, nutritious, unprocessed food. I DO NOT like labels.

Lastly, I should tell you why my blog is mostly gluten free. I recently developed gluten intolerance ( a year a half a go) and feel terrible if I have it. Oh yes and hypoglycemia at the same time. Which just gives me another reason to fuel my body on premium fuel... stuff that tastes awesome and makes you feel great for hours.
